Samsung and KT Complete First Live 6G AI-RAN Trial on Commercial Network
Samsung Electronics and KT have successfully tested a 6G AI radio access network (AI-RAN) on KT’s live commercial network in South Korea. The trial involved 18,000 users across Seongnam, marking the first real-world demonstration of AI-driven 6G optimization after June’s simulations.
The AI-RAN system dynamically adjusts network configurations per user, targeting improved connectivity and reduced call drops. While performance metrics remain undisclosed, the technology aims to handle escalating data demands anticipated with 6G adoption.
Telecom providers are increasingly integrating AI-RAN solutions, signaling growing demand for edge AI infrastructure. The trial underscores South Korea’s push to lead next-gen network development amid global 6G standardization efforts.
